Our School

Hayward High School is the oldest high school in Southern Alameda County.  We began serving the community in 1892.  The present site of the school on East Avenue, the third campus in the school’s history, was built in the early 1960’s.

Today we offer a comprehensive curriculum with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in all core curricular areas, a full range of core courses, a variety of classes in the visual and performing arts area, including instrumental and vocal music, and vocational courses in Business Education, Home Economics and Industrial Technology.  We have capstone courses with the Eden Area Regional Occupational Program (ROP). We invite you to view our website and take a virtual tour of our campus.  Find out what is happening at Hayward High.  Go Farmers!
