Youth Intervention Supports

Youth Intervention Specialists play a crucial role in our high school community, providing vital support to students who may be facing personal, social, or academic challenges. These specialists are dedicated to identifying early signs of struggle and intervening with the right resources to help students overcome obstacles and thrive. By offering individualized support, crisis intervention, and connections to external resources, Youth Intervention Specialists help ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the difficulties they may encounter. Their work not only enhances the well-being of our students but also fosters a safe and supportive school environment where all students feel valued and understood. We believe that the presence of a Youth Intervention Specialist is key to building a strong, resilient school community, and we encourage parents to reach out if they feel their child could benefit from this support.

A Youth Intervention Specialist is a key resource in our high school, dedicated to supporting students who may be facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.

This specialist works closely with students to provide:

  • Create an individualized plan to help students overcome problems that impede learning
  • Support students and families with truancy and absenteeism
  • Facilitate annual meeting to develop or review a 504 Accommodations Plan (150+ plans)
  • Provide small group social/emotional counseling that focus on school adjustment issues such as anxiety
  • Design and provide specialty workshops for students, staff and parents

By collaborating with parents, teachers, and counselors, the Youth Intervention Specialist creates personalized strategies that address each student's unique needs, ensuring they receive the right support at the right time.

The goal is to:

  • Empower students to overcome obstacles
  • Build resilience
  • Stay on a positive path both inside and outside of school.

A Child Welfare & Attendance (CWA) Outreach Worker plays an essential role in supporting the well-being and academic success of our students.

The CWA Outreach Worker is dedicated to addressing any attendance issues and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and positive learning environment. By working closely with students, families, and staff, they help identify and address barriers that may be impacting a student's ability to attend school regularly.

The CWA Outreach Worker provides:

  • personalized support to help students overcome challenges and stay on track academically.

Their goal is to:

  • Foster a strong partnership between the school and families
  • Promote the importance of regular attendance
  • Ensure that each student has the tools they need to succeed.
