Attendance

Welcome to the Attendance Office! Our team is dedicated to supporting the success of every student by ensuring consistent and timely attendance, which is a key factor in academic achievement. We work closely with students, parents, and staff to maintain accurate records and provide clear communication regarding attendance policies and procedures. Our goal is to create a smooth and efficient process for reporting absences, tardies, and early dismissals, making it easier for families to manage their schedules while keeping students on track for success.

Attendance Protocol

Attendance Verification

Early Release

Students are released by the parent/guardian sending a note with them in the morning, by sending an email or coming into the attendance office to sign them out. We do not release students over the phone.

Please include the following information for future release:

1. Student's First and Last Name

2. The reason the student is being released early

3. The time the student is being released

4. Who is picking up the student or is the student walking. Just a reminder the person picking up the student must be listed as an emergency contact or parent/guardian.

Student will need to show pass to CSO at front gate to be released from campus.

Please Note

If the student is attending a medical/dental appointment, please ask the Doctor for a note for the school and have the student turn in the Doctor's note to the attendance office.

If a student leaves school without the proper approval, they will be given a "Cut" for the classes they were marked absent after they left school. This will trigger truancy.

Reporting An Absence

Parents/Guardians must communicate each day a student is absent. Please leave a detailed message with our 24-hour answering machine or email our office.

When emailing or calling, please provide the following information:

Student's full name (please spell the last name when calling)
Your name and relationship to the student
Reason for absence (please be specific)

A phone call, email, or written note is required within 72 hours to clear an absence. If no parent or guardian contact is made, the absence is recorded as an unexcused truancy. Our automated calling system will make two attempts daily to contact home when a student has been marked absent in one or more classes. If your student believes the absence notation was made in error, please have the student report to their teacher to help assist them.

Medical Note. A doctor's note must be provided to the attendance office, after a student has accrued more then 10 days of medical/personal days missed. If a Dr. Note is not provided the absences will be coded as an unconfirmed medical/personal which counts towards Truancy
